Free trips and additional public transport runs on December 31 and January 1
Rīgas satiksme” informs that on the New Year eve, December 31, and on the first day of the New Year, January 1, there will be changes in the operation of public transport, municipal parking lots and customer service centres. On December 31 and January 1, public transport (buses, trams, trolleybuses) will be available free of charge. Additional public transport runs will be organized in the New Year night.
Public transport (trams, trolleybuses, buses)
On December 31 and January 1, the public transport will run according to the holiday schedules. On these days, passengers will be able to use buses, trams, and trolleybuses free of charge.
To ensure a more comfortable transportation of passengers to places where New Year events will be held and back, additional public transport runs will be organized on the following routes in the period from approximately 20:00 of December 31 until 4:00 of January 1:
- on bus routes No. 3, 11, 12/23/26 (combined, runs by Akmens Bridge), 18, 24, 25, 37, 40, 50, 51 and 53 (more about additional runs);
- on tram routes No. 1, 5, 7, 10 and 11 (more about additional runs);
- on trolleybus routes No. 9, 14, 15, 17, 18, 22 and 27 (more about additional runs).
Customer service centres
The customer service centre at Brīvības Street 49/53 will be closed from 15:00 of December 21, 2018 until 10:00 of January 2, 2019 due to repair works.
On December 29, all customer service centres, except that located at Brīvības Street 49/53, will be open from 10:00 until 16:00.
On Sunday, December 30, the customer service centre at Spīķeru Street 1 will be open from 10:00 until 16:00, the other six customer service centres will be closed.
On December 31 and January 31, all customer service centres will be closed.
Parking lots
On December 31 and January 1 services of paid parking lots of Riga municipality operated by „Rīgas satiksme” will be available free of charge, except the underground parking lot at Krišjāņa Valdemāra Street 5a, where parking services will be charged for according to the current tariffs.
Minibuses, express buses, night transport
On December 31 and January 1, minibuses and express buses will run according to Sunday’s schedules. On these days, passengers will be able to use white-and-blue minibuses free of charge.
The night transport will be provided in the night of December 28/29 and December 29/30.
